Art Lecture with Professor Thomas Germano

The year 2020 marks the 500th anniversary since the passing of one of the Renaissance eras greatest artists, Raffaello Sanzio, known as Raphael. Born the son of an artist, Raphael became a child prodigy who was educated by Perugino and taken under the wing of his Father’s friend, Donato Bramante. Raphael became the artistic rival and eventually the equals of Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo. He came of age during the High Renaissance and was prolific, in his very short lifetime, painting for two Popes, Cardinals, art connoisseurs and collectors. Raphael produced some of the most enduring images which will be featured in this visual lecture presented by Professor Germano.
