Originally scheduled to run throuhg May 17, 2020 at the Whitney Museum of American Art, this exhibition was forced to close after less than one month due to the global pandemic. This illuminating show examines the impact of Mexican muralists on a wide spectrum of American artists. Rivera's studies and full-scale reproduction of the censored Rockefeller Mural is shown with a number of works by American artists who worked in his studio, imitated his style and followed in his footsteps. Professor Germano will discuss the exhibition, the artists and their works.
